Jagiellonian Award for Waldemar Tomaszewski and Honourable Professor for Maria Szonert-Binienda


On August 13th, 2016 the Award Ceremony  took place in Jagiellonian College.

Maria Szonert – Binienda was awarded the title of Honourable Professor of Jagiellonian College. Maria Szonert is an American lawyer and activist of the Polish American Congress in the United States. She is well known as lawyer engaged in the legal disputes concerning Soviet genocied crime against Polish POW in Katyń in 1940.

Waldemar Tomaszewski was awarded the Jagiellonian Prize. Prize is granted to the personalities for their exceptional contribution for the political, social, economic, cultural or scientific development of the Central Europe. Waldemar Tomaszewski is member of the European Parliament. He is a leader of the Polish Minority in Lithuania and the President of Polish Electoral Action in this country.

It wad a great honor for the Jagiellonian College to reward these unique personalities.
